As a steward, you will be asked to work the equivalent of 3 sessions (each morning, afternoon or evening being a session). You may elect to work double sessions (6) in return for a £5 weekend ticket.
Help with clearing up on Monday is also appreciated — we are normally done by 5.00-5.15pm. Your stewarding slots will be arranged in consultation with the pre-event steward coordinator, so you get to steward at many of the events you most enjoy. While we want you to host the event that you are stewarding and look after the performers and dancers, we do not expect our stewards to miss out on the dancing. On the contrary, we encourage them to join in as much as possible. We believe that engaged stewards make the best stewards!
Stewards will receive a free T-shirt, which each year will be advertising the next year's festival, and free hot drinks in the stewards' office — bring your own mug! There will be biscuits and some cake, too!
If you are interested in stewarding, please book your ticket this year via the TicketTailor agency. We used this in 2025 for dancers' bookings and it went well, so we have extended it to steward tickets.
Payment may be made by bank transfer, debit card or credit card. There is no extra cost (to you) for this.
Payment may also be made off-line via transfer to our Lloyds bank business account, or by cheque posted directly to MHD.
